“Keep Your Hands Off My Medicare” Rally

Miami, FL– Today, Rep. Joe Garcia joined the Florida Alliance for Retired Americans and other seniors groups to hold a “Keep Your Hands Off My Medicare” rally outside of a Social Security Administration office. At the event, the seniors groups formally endorsed Rep. Joe Garcia’s 2014 reelection campaign.
The Alliance for Retired Americans was joined by other seniors groups including the Gray Panthers of South Dade, SEIU retirees, and Americans United For Change, who recognized Rep. Garcia’s strong support for Social Security and Medicare – while Carlos Curbelo has called Medicare and Social Security a “Ponzi Scheme.”
“I fully support Rep. Garcia’s commitment to standing up for seniors in our community,” said Rick Iacino, Area Vice President of the Florida Alliance for Retired Americans. “Rep. Garcia has always stood up for Medicare, even when it meant challenging the President, and he understands that seniors deserve to have their earned benefits protected.”
